Profile
Balancing Academic and Athletic Success for Talented Young Athletes
Sportlycée provides privileged conditions for talented young athletes to prepare them for high-level performance while ensuring equal opportunities for their academic and professional education. Sportlycée coordinates all pedagogical, social, and administrative operations that allow talented athletes to continue their studies. To maintain their status as student-athletes at Sportlycée, it is essential to maintain their athletic level and achieve adequate academic results. The schooling adapts to the athlete's rhythm, and a return to traditional schooling at any point in the curriculum must be guaranteed.
The structure, focused on the athlete-student, aims for the following three major objectives:
- Academic success through:
- Sufficient weekly class hours
- Tailored and differentiated pedagogical projects
- Coordination measures, support, and academic remediation
- Sporting success through:
- Adherence to the evolution of competition, the profile of the discipline, and the fundamental principles of training (LTAD: Long Term Athlete Development)
- Placing the athlete at the center of their interests, guided by coaches and supported by a quality structure
- Normal social integration through:
- Recovery periods
- Daily and weekly schedules sustainable in the long term
The project encompasses the following three components:
- Pedagogical aspect (educating and evaluating the student)
- Sporting aspect (training and evaluating the athlete)
- Coordination structure aspect (supporting the child-student-athlete)
